HCS12 Family — Motorola announces the introduction of a high performance 16-Bit MCU Family, starting with 256K memory, and 5 integrated CAN modules — the MC9S12DP256B. This device is the first member of the next generation, high performance HCS12 Family. The entire family is based on new System on-Chip Design Technology (SoCDT), which utilizes the latest synthesized design techniques, to allow faster design, qualification and production of new derivatives, all based on .25 micron technology. Based on the powerful MC9S12 CPU, all family members will be pin compatible and memory upgradeable, with a variety of on-chip peripheral options. This family continues the legacy of Motorola’s best in class 16-Bit MCUs.
